The Woman of the Year award publicly recognizes and honors the valuable economic contributions made by women business owners (WBO) in the San Antonio area. Passionate about disrupting small business norms, Stephanie’s company produces education-focused events that target the business owner as a whole person. According to Stephanie, “We exist to simplify the complicated processes of business and make growing a stable business that produces a return on investment (ROI) easy.”
GROW Disrupt events are crafted for application-based learning. Attendees have exclusive access to high caliber speakers who can take complex concepts and translate them into practical application. Speakers like Mike Michalowicz of Profit First, Texas Radio Hall of Famer, Sonny Melendrez and Dean McFlicker of NBC have worked with business owners to create their own unique level of success at these intimate retreats. Stephanie’s events mirror her own style of leadership by demystifying and maximizing the people side of business. She is a transformation catalyst!
What kind of impact has Stephanie had? While working at her full-time job, she built a sales coaching business and walked away from corporate in just five months. Realizing she had to do more, she created GROW Disrupt to help more entrepreneurs than she could be coaching one on one. Dedicated to simplifying business concepts, she has created a lasting impact in over 2500 small businesses. Trevor Townsend of Alamo Water Softeners said, “Today we are experiencing record-breaking growth and now have a complete management team. Alamo Water Softener’s future is looking bright. Had we not worked with Stephanie and her team, I do not think we would be in such a strong position today.”
Stephanie’s influence extends beyond her events and mentorship. She has written 2 best selling books, “Friend Power” and “How to Get Past the Gatekeeper.” She speaks on stages and in 2016, she became a TEDx SanAntonio speaker, sharing “Lessons She Learned from Her Horse”. Her award nominations include Forbes 30 Under 30 and the New York LIfe Woman of the Year.
The nomination process is rigorous. Stephanie was one of over 100 nominees presented to NAWBO-SA. After being selected as one of seventeen finalists, she was interviewed by a board and a journalist and finally set up for a photoshoot. Winners were announced in March of 2020.
